The History of Three Creek Lake Store

In 1968 the lake store was operated from a canvas tent. Later, the Tatum Family had the foresight to build the general store and boat rental business at the base of Tam MacArthur Rim so that they could enjoy their summers with all their local friends and family. They kept what great fishing the lake had as a secret. Eventually, the word got out that the ODFW stocked the lake with Rainbow’s, so you could catch the local Brook Trout and the Rainbows all in one day. Today, fishermen share the lake with everyone from laughing children on pedal boats, swimming dogs and paddleboarders. The original rowboats have kept their charm and continue to be restored.

Camp with your Horse

Deschutes Recreation manages the campsites by Three Creek Lake. Camping spots fill up quickly, so book well in advance. Stop into the store for a cold beverage or a sweatshirt to keep you warm on the ride back home.

Fish Alone

The Three Creek Lake general store sells a limited amount of fishing tackle, locally grown worms and bait. There are fishing poles and nets to rent by the day.

Row with your Dog

We love dogs at the lake! Please do bring your four-legged friends. We do ask that you pick up after them and don’t bring them into the store. We offer treats for them after they have waited patiently outside the door.
